Patching Up A Martin Ukulele Bridge
I have a Martin in for repair with many cracks. I always tell the customer that I can’t do a full estimate until the uke is on my bench and this is a good example why. The Slot in the bridge for the forth string was blown out. Someone drilled a hole through the top and bridge plate, tied a knot and fed the string through from the sound hole. There are folks who use this technique for their bridges, but not Martin! We decided to patch the bridge. I was going to write a long post about it, but I think the photos and video below tell the tale.
